Graduation RequirementsRegents Diploma Students pursuing the Regents Diploma must complete 22 units of credit and pass 5 New York State Regents Exams (English, Global History, American History, Math A, and one lab science), with a score of 65 or higher. Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation Students pursuing the Regents Diploma must complete 22 units of credit and pass 8 New York State Regents Exams (English, Global History, American History, Math A, Math B, Living Environment, one physical setting lab science and a Language other the English), with a score of 65 or higher. Students with interests in technology, business, family and consumer science or other occupational tracks may earn 5 units of credit to replace the language other the English requirement. Local Diploma Students pursuing a Local Diploma must complete 22 units of credit and pass 5 New York State Regents Exams (English, Global History, American History, Math A, and one lab science), with a score of 55 or higher. Students may pursue this option after unsuccessfully attempting the regents exam, taking a remedial course and then taking the regents exam a second time. If either test results in a score of 55 or higher, the student and/or parent may petition the principal for the local diploma option. See your counselor for more details. IEP (Individual Education Plan) Diploma An IEP Diploma is awarded to students with special needs upon completion of their individual education program objectives as developed by the committee on special education. GED Diploma Students considering a GED diploma should contact Mrs. Tina Winkler, assistant principal at 593-5400.
