Dear
Parents,
On behalf of the faculty, staff, and administration, I welcome
you to Granby Elementary School. We are located at 400 West Seventh
Street North off of Hannibal Street. We are the newest elementary
school in Fulton and serve approximately 530 students in grades
K - 6. Granby is fortunate to have an extremely dedicated staff
who with high expectations, provide a nurturing, quality education
and support to all of the students.
Our mission statement is:
The mission of Granby Elementary School is to prepare all
students to become lifelong learners, value themselves and others,
contribute to the community and succeed in a changing world.
At Granby, we believe all children can learn and that each child
is an important part of the community. In addition, we believe each
child must develop self-respect, along with respect for each other,
adults, and the learning process. We try our best to promote feelings
of self-confidence and self-esteem in each child along with teaching
the self-discipline necessary to be a responsible learner and citizen.
At Granby we feel it is important to have strong connections with
parents, as they are an important link in a successful learning
process.
Our school focuses on character education every day. Our Character
Pledge, said every day during morning announcements is, "Today
I am respectful, responsible, safe, and ready to learn. I will cooperate
to make Granby School a special place." We stress values
such as honesty, self-control, cooperation, politeness, courage,
citizenship, fairness, respect, and responsibility. We emphasize
these skills are important for home, school, and the world in
general. Hopefully we are truly laying a foundation so our students
can be successful in a world that changes daily.
I welcome you to Granby Elementary and hope that you will enjoy
our school. Thank you for visiting our web site.
