A Message From the Board President:

On behalf of the Board of Education I'd like to welcome you to our school website, and if you are new to the area, to the Fulton School District . Our website is designed to provide you with information about many components of the School District . There is information on district policies, school handbooks, and school assessments. There is information on how to contact staff, up-to-date information on the budget and the capital project, and a calendar of events. I encourage you to spend a moment or two perusing the whole site.

This past year has seen many positive changes. We are no longer a District In Need of Improvement and our schools continue to see improvement in their test scores. Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) continues to build momentum in all our schools as we continue to focus on what it means to be respectful, to be responsible, and to be safe. We have improved our ability to use data to make decisions. With the use of Response to Intervention (RTI), we are supporting students in need that could use more assistance in reaching their potential.

All the staff and Board of Education members are dedicated to having each and every student cross the stage as a graduate of the Fulton City School District . To that end we continue to use evidence and research based instructional skills, curriculum, and interventions to improve the skills of all our teachers and administrators and to create an atmosphere where children and youth feel comfortable, empowered, and successful.

We would like to invite you to help out, as much as you can, as well. There are many opportunities for family members, and community members, to help our children be the best they can be. All you need to do is talk with a teacher, a building administrator, the Superintendent, and/or a School Board member and we can provide you with plenty of ways to get more involved. Even if you are unable to make a commitment to volunteer in our schools, I encourage you to spend some time with your own kids, relatives, and/or neighborhood children. It would be a great help to spend some time reading to them. You'd be surprised at how much that can change a child's life.

There are so many things I could write about but many things are better when experienced for yourself. So I implore you to check the website often and see what changes, events and going-ons are happening and visit our schools, talk with our staff, and watch our students and district continue to grow.
