WHAT IS PBIS? Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is off and running throughout the district. Staff members in the district have been working hard to develop school-wide systems around our three district expectations; be respectful, be responsible, and be safe.
PBIS is an evidence-based approach to improve school climate and academic success. This approach is based on directly teaching students the behaviors we expect, acknowledging them for using the expected behaviors, correcting them when they do not, and celebrating positive culture. PBIS is designed to teach positive behavior as a way to improve school climate and make it easier for students to learn.
